ABOUT US
THE TRUCKEE RIVER PRESCRIBED BURN ASSOCIATION
The Truckee River Prescribed Burn Association (PBA) is a community-based organization dedicated to restoring fire to the landscape and reducing wildfire risk across the Truckee River region. Bringing together landowners, fire practitioners, local agencies, and volunteers, the PBA supports the safe and effective use of prescribed fire as a tool for forest health, habitat improvement, and community resilience.
The association provides hands-on training opportunities, promotes knowledge sharing, and helps build local capacity for planning and implementing prescribed burns. By working collaboratively, the Truckee River PBA empowers communities to take an active role in managing their lands while following established safety standards and best practices.
Through partnerships and education, the PBA is helping reintroduce good fire to the ecosystem—protecting watersheds, improving forest conditions, and strengthening the connection between people and the land.
